Over the last few months we’ve been hearing a steady chorus of approval for bank feed integration, whereby FreeAgent would connect to your online banking system and automatically pull in transaction data, without you having to manually download/upload statements.
We’re very excited to announce the launch of a new project today, and one we hope will be appreciated by many of our customers.
So, welcome to the Depot: a furtive glance into the secretive and sometimes musky world of FreeAgent development.
It’s all about housekeeping in this release, with new ways to tidy up your data and get on top of your tasks. Think of us as a nerdier Martha Stewart, without the criminal convictions.
It’s all about speeding up your workflow, with some new time saving features winging your way and a faster interface for building invoices and estimates.
In this update we release a number of improvements to our VAT handling, including support for VAT handling of EU sales, and announce online filing with HMRC.
The development team have kicked into overdrive now the office has warmed up and we’re nailing lots of requested improvements and new features.
We pushed another one of our “sneak releases” live last week. It didn’t contain any new features in the app but we have now enabled Single Sign-on and Universal Navigation to FreeAgent from your Google Apps account.
In this months’ release we announce the introduction of unbillable time as well as an easier support mechanism.

Today marks a huge milestone in the life of FreeAgent Central, and in the future of small business accounting we think: we’re announcing a strategic partnership with IRIS Software.
Since we launched, our referral programme has been hugely successful for us.
It’s been a year since we last refreshed the FreeAgent website, and a lot has changed in that time, so the time was right for another update.
In this month’s release we’ve implemented a slew of feature requests, as well as introducing some new views on project data and profitability.

The long-awaited arrival of Estimates is here, helping make FreeAgent the most complete money management application for freelancers and small businesses.
Wow. What a great start to the year.
We’ve seen a 40% increase in both new signups and new subscribers each month since December, and we’re starting to see the results of our work to get friendly with even more accounting partners.

A few small post-launch bug-fixes this week – lots going on under the covers again, though…
Previously, the numbers weren’t quite right when you rebilled mileage to a client if you are VAT-registered.
It’s really important to us that we have a real and ongoing conversation with our users, so that we can make FreeAgent even better as time goes by.
For a while we’ve been looking for the best way to do this, and experimented internally with email, blogs, wikis, forums, you name it.
