How successful apps like Float are helping to grow the FreeAgent ecosystem

You may have heard the news this week about Nick Clegg’s plans to create a better-rewarded workforce in the UK by encouraging companies to follow the lead of high street retailer John Lewis.

This idea is a fairly simple one. Since John Lewis is owned by its employees and they all take a share in its profits, the Lib Dem leader thinks that similar co-ownership schemes should be implemented by other UK businesses. He believes that, not only will this create better-rewarded workforces, but will also increase productivity and morale among employees and help to spearhead the country’s future economic growth.

Users of Toggl, the popular online time tracking service, will be pleased to hear that Dave Goodchild, an enterprising FreeAgent user, has launched Agent Toast: a new integration service that imports timeslip data from Toggl into FreeAgent.

The nice people at Float are close to launching their cashflow projection app, which integrates seamlessly with FreeAgent.

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: one of the delights in producing online software is the complimentary products that get developed to work in alongside your own app to extend it’s reach and functionality.
