Awards season is in full swing and my dinner suit hasn’t seen this much action since that ill-fated James Bond convention in Rochdale (but we don’t talk about that...)
Most recently we attended the heraldscotland.com Digital Business Awards 2011, which are held to recognise Scottish businesses operating within the sphere of digital technology and the internet.
The event itself was held in the fantastic Oran Mor in the west end of Glasgow. The ceiling in the auditorium of this converted church is literally a work of art, being a celestial mural by Alasdair Gray, the widely (and rightly) acclaimed artist and author.
Under this august canopy, the events of the evening began to unfold and we were nominated in the first category of the night, the Business to Business award which we are pleased to report that we won. More silverware to polish!
By chance, we happened to be sitting at a table next to the team from Kotikan, a local mobile app developer who have been very happy FreeAgent users for some time. We were delighted for them that they went on to win the award for the Best Use of Mobile Technology for the mobile app they developed for Skyscanner, yet another successful Scottish tech business.
FreeAgent is very proud to be based up here in the dark and cold North, and we are always delighted to be recognised alongside so many other excellent Scottish businesses.
Well done to all the other nominees and winners, and we look forward to seeing you all next year!
