Creating an awesome office culture is a big consideration when it comes to running a successful businesses -- this week, we’ve brought together some inspiring examples of businesses who are trying new things to make workplaces even better.

Sometimes you just need to scribble an idea on the nearest available surface - and that’s why IdeaPaint is becoming a must-have for companies who want to promote collaboration. Check out this video to see how sports company Reebok has plastered its global HQ with the paint in order to harness its designers’ ideas - effectively turning its office into a giant inspiration board.

What would your office culture be like without any email? It took researchers five years to find a company who was willing to try, and the results may surprise you (or maybe not!). While it may be a bit extreme to switch off all email forever, scheduled “email vacations” could not only reduce employee stress, but also increase their productivity.

On the flip side, your company could embrace email as a tool for complete openness, and send every single email to everyone. If that sounds crazy, one company is already doing it - in this article, an employee of payment processor Stripe talks about what it’s like to have access to the “fire hose” of Stripe emails every day, and how he thinks it leads to a more trusting, open culture.

Studies have shown that things like plants in the office and good lighting can have an impact on how you work and act, and businesses are building everything from floating stairways and relaxation pods to vegetable gardens and meeting room chalets to make a difference.
