Out of Pocket iPhone App

Out of Pocket iPhone app

iPhone apps, they're like buses aren't they? You wait for ages and then 2 come along at once.

Hot on the heels of DoubleAgent comes a new expenses iPhone app for FreeAgent - Out of Pocket. While DoubleAgent was purely focused on tracking Mileage, Out of Pocket lets you add any sort of expense directly to your FreeAgent account.

A nifty feature is the ability to take a snapshot of a receipt using the iPhone camera and have this uploaded too - great if you're out in a bar and want to claim a round of drinks on expenses (Ed: FreeAgent do not advocate or condone the false claiming of alcohol as a business expense).

Out of Pocket is free to try and costs £2.39 ($3.99) via in-app purchase if you want to upgrade to the full version.

I've been using it personally for a while, and I can fully recommend Out of Pocket as a useful add-on to FreeAgent.

Now, who's up for doing an Android app?

Over to you...

Charles - Sorry to hear that the app has been crashing for you. We did get the crash reports and have submitted an update containing a fix to the App Store (1.1) that should be out in around a week. If you would still like to try the app then please download the update when available and give it another go. Totally understand if you're not interested though - apologies again for the app not working for you.

poneill - We see you've started a discussion on the help site - please see our replies there.

In general, please post issues with Out of Pocket on:

http://help.outofpocketapp.com

It is a third party app and is not written by FreeAgent.

Thanks.

Now works seems it needs a very good connection for sync to appear. Which is fine as only need to sync occasionally. Super app very happy

Looking forward to using this, once I get an iphone! I have heard of iphone apps for other web applications making a mess of data within the main account, I'm not sure on the technical side of things how likely this is and I'm not saying that this can or does happen with 'out of pocket', but I hope Freeagent do thorough testing themselves before recommending 3rd party iphone apps. Keep up the great work Freeagent.

Having just got myself the HTC desire, I would def be up for an android app... and/or a dashboard widget of some sort.

Working really well for me. Flawless so far (v1.1).

Good app, but the ability to split items bought in one transaction over various categories would be even better
Chad Williams, Fri August 13, 2010
Yep - Android app would make this even sweeter!

I signed up with this app as soon as I started my FreeAgent trial and I don't regreat either. They work great together and I've not come across any issues so far.

For some reason I can't log into freeagent on the 'out of pocket' app. I get the the login page and enter my ____@freeagentcentra.com, my email address and the password I use to log into the site on the computer.
It will not work on the phone. I am still using the trial version, what cant I get it to sink?

@Maya Have you enabled API access on your FreeAgent account? You can do this in "Settings > API and Feeds" in FreeAgent. Once this is enabled you should have no problems syncing.
