As FreeAgent’s Data Scientist in our Communications Team, it'll be up to you to understand how people respond to our communications and product, and to help us make them even better. That might include digging into our data to answer a specific question, collecting more information from a third-party site’s API, helping us build company dashboards, or designing a model that predicts user behaviour.
You’ll need to be proactive, imaginative, and curious while still maintaining a rigorous, highly analytical approach. You’ll be passionate about understanding why and how people make decisions, how they behave, and how we can employ creative new ways to measure and predict behaviour. You’ll have no problem communicating what you find to others, and you’ll also be comfortable with championing your ideas to others. We’ll challenge you to not just answer our questions, but tell us the questions that we should be asking.
Because the web is full of messy data, you’ll need to have experience with gleaning insight from combined, unstructured data sources. You’ll have used tools like Tableau, R, SPSS, or SAS, and will know your way around a programming language that helps you access and combine data.
