Data security and back-up

We take the security of our customers' data very seriously.

All information which passes between our servers and your computer is encrypted using high-grade 256-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, the same technology that banks use to protect data.

Our servers are managed by Rackspace, a world leader in hosting.  Rackspace have very tightly controlled physical security and highly resilient networking and power facilities, and we also employ a managed firewall for additional security.  We don't think there's a safer place for us to keep our servers

We look after your business data ourselves.  We back up our data and transfer it off-site every 5 minutes in addition to maintaining a historic, encrypted archive of data, all of which makes it exceptionally unlikely that your data will be lost.  We also encrypt sensitive data such as bank account numbers and NI numbers within the database itself, and use RAID technology to ensure the servers keep running in the case of disk failure.

Of course, you own your data. You can export all of your FreeAgent data at any time in Excel format, and analyse it or back it up yourself, as you see fit.
