I want to post journal entries / mark a VAT return as filed / modify a payroll /etc and I can't see the option.
Your access level will have been restricted by your accountant or whoever set you up to use FreeAgent.
Can you extend my access level?
We're not allowed to do this. You'd need to ask your accountant, or the person who set your FreeAgent user ID up, to extend your user permissions.
How do they do that?
First they would need to log in using their own ID.
Then click Settings at the top right of the screen, then click Users.
They'd then need to find your name on the list of users and click it.
Next they'd need to drag the user permissions bar as far over to the right as it will go - to Full access - like this.
Once they've saved their changes, you'll be able to log in with your own ID and do whatever you need to in FreeAgent.
