Storing company files

Here's how to upload company documents into FreeAgent.

This storage area isn't intended for receipts which you attach to your expenses and bills, it's for general information that you might find useful to have handy while you're working on your accounts.

To find this area, click Files at the top right of the screen.

This brings up the files you've uploaded so far.

Upload a new file

To upload a new file, click the Browse button to find it on your computer.

Choose the file from your computer and then click Upload.

FreeAgent will then upload the file into your store.

E-mail a file in

You can also e-mail files into this area of FreeAgent.  Simply attach the file to an ordinary e-mail message and e-mail it to files@yourdomain.freeagent.com and the file will appear in the Files area of your FreeAgent account.  Please note though, for this to work you must use the e-mail address that you log into FreeAgent with, because the system has to be able to recognise who the e-mail is coming from.

Rename a file

You can rename any of these documents by clicking the Rename button on the far right against that file.

The Rename box appears.  Type the new name and click Rename file.

Delete a file

Next to the Rename button is a cross which you can use to delete this file if you no longer want to have it stored in FreeAgent.

File size limits

You can upload files up to 2MB in size, apart from logos in the Settings area which can only be up to 1MB.
