The Self-Employment Tax Summit

What’s the impact of HMRC’s proposed changes to the rules for contractor's tax relief on travel and subsistence costs?

In July 2015 the government issued a consultation paper to detail their proposed changes to the rules for when contractors may claim tax relief on travel and subsistence costs.

Since many of our customers are contractors who could potentially be affected by these changes, at FreeAgent we felt it was important to discuss these issues with industry leaders, to raise awareness and to crystallise a response. So we organised the Self-Employment Tax Summit on 15 September 2015 to bring together a group of key individuals at our offices in Edinburgh.

In this whitepaper Emily Coltman, Chief Accountant at FreeAgent, details the proposed changes and summarises the discussion from the summit.
