Guide your clients through the next wave of Making Tax Digital
A free handout to introduce your small business and freelancer clients to Making Tax Digital.
About the guide
Making Tax Digital (MTD) is a government initiative that sets out a bold vision for the UK to have “one of the most digitally advanced tax administrations in the world”. The first stage rolled out on 1st April 2019 and with more waves to follow, more and more of your clients will need to understand the initiative in the future.
To help you guide your clients through the next stage of the government's plans for Making Tax Digital, we’ve produced a concise guide for small business owners and freelancers. It explains what Making Tax Digital is, what its objectives are and how it will affect the way taxpayers report information to HMRC now and in the future.
The guide also includes specific information on Making Tax Digital for VAT, which will expand in scope in from April 2022 to require VAT-registered businesses with a taxable turnover below the VAT threshold to follow Making Tax Digital rules for the first time.
Once you’ve downloaded the guide, you can email it to your clients or print it out and mail it to them after your next appointment.
