Covid-19: looking after our team and our customers

Ed Molyneux

Founder

The ongoing Covid-19 outbreak is already having a huge impact on small businesses throughout the UK, and we’re all still coming to terms with what this will truly mean.

Here at FreeAgent, we’re putting in place a number of measures to safeguard our team, the service we provide and the wider community, which I’d like to tell you about.

Looking after our team

As of today, all FreeAgent staff are working remotely from home. We’re well set up to do this, given many of our staff already work remotely, and it’s the right thing to do to protect our staff and the community.

Our experience of remote working and investment in the tools and technology to allow this means we don’t anticipate any impact on the FreeAgent service or our customer support.

By and large, it’s business as usual for us here at FreeAgent HQ.

We’ve also taken the decision to cancel some of our upcoming events. Where possible we’re moving them online but sadly we won’t be out and about at a number of our partner events and shows in the coming weeks.

Looking after our customers

Keeping FreeAgent up and running is our top priority, but we know many of you will be worrying about more than keeping your books up to date.

The impact on small businesses may be profound. Many of you already work from home, but for others, the prospect of increased social distancing could mean entirely new ways of working.

At FreeAgent, we’ve always tried to support those of you working from home, whether through our freelancer virtual Christmas party, tips on home working or setting up your home office.

Being productive at home while keeping in touch with each other is now more important than ever, so we're keeping you up to date with the latest news and offering tips and guidance on working from home on our small business coronavirus hub.

We’re also thinking about how we can help customers who will start to feel the economic impact over the next few months. To start with, we’ll be digging into the measures announced in the recent UK budget to help small businesses and the self-employed, and seeing what these mean for you and how you might be able to access funding.

The next few months are going to be a difficult and uncertain time for many of us, but I want to assure you that FreeAgent will be here to support you and your business as much as we can.

Take care

Ed
