A micro-business (also known as a micro-entity) is most commonly defined in the UK as a company with 0-9 employees.

According to 2018 House of Commons statistics, there are around 5.4 million micro-businesses in the United Kingdom. This number comprises over 96% of all UK businesses.

In 2018, micro-businesses employed a total of 8.8 million staff nationwide, accounting for 33% of employment and generating 21% of turnover.
